Wales sealed a 2-0 victory over Turkey in their second Euro 2020 match in Baku.
Gareth Bale assisted both goals from Aaron Ramsey and Connor Roberts as the Dragons ripped up the script in a stadium where their supporters were heavily outnumbered by the Turkish faithful.
The defeat all but assures Şenol Güneş’s side of their exit from the tournament while Wales look set to march on into the knockout stages.
From the first whistle they took the game to the Turks and Ramsey missed two gilt-edged opportunities before getting on the end of Bale’s perfect over-the-top through ball and poking his side in front just before half-time.
The second half saw Turkey grow into the match and waste several good chances, but Rob Page’s side still posed a threat on the counter attack.
In the dying moments of the game, Bale took advantage of the opposition defence’s fatigue and made a run into the box from the corner before pulling back for right-back Roberts to round off a famous win for the Dragons.
The road continues for Wales who seem prepared to match their miraculous run in the previous European Championships, in which they made it to the semi-finals.
